What can I use to bait a rat trap with that will not attract squirrels (red and fox) or chipmunks?

We purchased a rat zapper but do want to use it until we know that it will not zap squirrels and chipmunks with the bait. What can I use to bait a rat trap with that will not attract squirrels (red and fox) or chipmunks?
Get a regular rat trap or mouse trap..take a tiny piece of bacon and a twister tie ..put the bacon on the thing and wire it on.I just caught my 4th and hope the last mouse this way....What can I use to bait a rat trap with that will not attract squirrels (red and fox) or chipmunks?
Use a non lethal trap..I agree,,They all eat about the same thing and no matter what you use your going to get rats squirrels and everything else. put a little thought into it, You will figure it out.

All three are rodents, so you take a chance of attracting squirrels and chipmunks regardless.

Rats however will eat meat and carrion. They're nasty disgusting things.
Why not use a Hav-a-heart trap or other non-lethal means of trapping? You can never be certain that you won't kill other animals with the trap.
well think of something that only the rat will be attracted
