Found a 4 wk old baby red squirrel. I ve read you can make them pets. Does anyone have one?

Don't take animals out of the wild to make them pets. That's selfish, unfair to the animal, and illegal. Squirrels make bad pets and are extremely hard to care for properly. It would definitely be best to get it to a wildlife rehabber right away. A lot of the babies that are brought in to them had been in someone's home for a while first, because they thought they were cute and wanted to try to raise them. Sadly, a lot of them were brought in once they became seriously ill or otherwise unmanageable. It's sad because I know that they only wanted to help and had good intentions, but were doing more harm than good. The survival rates of orphans brought in the same day or next day they were found increased their chances of surviving greatly. Please do right by the squirrel, and give it a second chance at a happy, natural life in the wild.Found a 4 wk old baby red squirrel. I ve read you can make them pets. Does anyone have one?
I don't have one but my friend has one and they just put it a bird cage with a thing for it to sleep on and feed it nuts but I don't know what kind of nuts. This is the kind of bed they use
