Red Ryder with pellets suitable for squirrels?

Just curious.Red Ryder with pellets suitable for squirrels?
It isn't a Red Ryder if it can shoot pellets. They never upgraded it.

Besides that, squirrels can't shoot any gun, so it isn't suitable for them. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you aren't suitable for the Red Ryder or any other bb or pellet gun.Red Ryder with pellets suitable for squirrels?
no, i would use probably another pellet gun. you can really use any thing from a shotgun, to what i use, a .22. you could probably also use a .17.
Nope. Red Ryder is a BB gun not a pellet gun. For squirrls, get a pellet gun that shoots 750+ fps. Also get the master point or the gamo pellets.

Your going to hurt the poor thing. If you wanna kill it do it quickly with a pellet.
If there's a Red Ryder that'll shoot anything besides bb's, I've yet to see one. The Red Ryder isn't powerful enough for humane hunting use. It's mainly intended for plinking at cans and such. Shooting a squirrel likely would only injure the critter, eventually causing it a long, and miserably painful death from infection or internal bleeding. If you want to hunt squirrels with an air rifle, you need a substantially more powerful one in .20 or .22 caliber.

By the way, MANY states permit hunting of regulated small game with an airgun (and for such, a hunting liscense is usually necessary). In my city, squirrel may be legally taken INSIDE THE CITY LIMITS as long as an airgun is used.

Check those facts, folks!
The last Red Ryder I saw only shot BBs, and I don't think it had enough power to kill a squirrel.
if ya close enuff and get a good head shot
HOLY CRAP! They make a Red Ryder that shoots pellets now???

I had a Red Ryder BB gun when I was a young teenager, it didn't have enough velocity to pierce a soda can, keep in mind at that time, soda cans were made out of metal, not aluminum foil like they are now.

If the new ones have the same anemic FPS the old ones did, then no way will it kill a squirrel.
if you want to kill them NO if you want to scare the **** out of them then yes
No, it just shoots way to slow. Also the Red Ryder only shoots BB's. There are a LOT of air guns that would be suitable for squirrels but this is not one of them.
If you are talking about the lever action spring air bb gun that loads bbs by twisting the muzzle to open a small opening, it won't shoot pellets.

Even if it did shoot pellets, it would not be suitable for shooting squirrels. IIRC it only produces something like 300 fps at the muzzle.

Added to the unsuitability, no state permits hunting of regulated game animals with an airgun.

Doc
Red ryder is a BB gun.. doesnt have a breach for a pellet....

I would suggest a Daisy 880...

Pump it 10 times and let er rip... i killed many a squirrell and rabbit back when i was a young'n
How would you get a pellet in a Red Ryder? Mine has a opening in the end of the barrel that you pour BB's into by the hundreds and they gravity feed to the breech. Mine is the ';you'll shoot your eye out'; model saddle ring lever action.
contact 1 of your local game wardens %26amp; tell him/her, what you have %26amp; see what they say.

to get your answer, you will have to wait till they quit laughing
NO..Especially since the Red Ryder is a BB gun only!
Red Ryder guns when I was a kid only shot bbs.Are they making them now to shoot pellets?I have had a red ryder rifle since 1986 it's made to shoot cans.Shooting animals with it is cruel its to weak.
Please explain EXACTLY how you load pellets into a BB only Red Ryder.

I would love to see the customizations made in order for you to achieve that.

The only thing that Red Ryder Range Model 200 shot BB gun (with a compass in the stock and a thing that tells time) is made for is shooting ';Black Bart'; at Christmas time.

If you try to shoot a squirrel with it, he is just merely going to look at you, then take the silly thing away from you and beat your asss with it.
................? how many feet per second does the red ryder shoot?
